We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

hip deep in pie

Even "Achtung Baby"? Oh man. Sue, you're killing me!

Achtung is where they lost me. Though I am intrigued by the bootlegs of the stolen tapes. I have only heard snippets, but they sound like the band I loved.

I have never heard Pop or Zooropa all the way through. But I have the Best of 1990-2000, and I find most of it unlistenable.

U2 were such the band of my adolescence, and The Unforgettable Fire is still a touchstone record for me, but their music rarely speaks to me they way it used to. Occasionally they put out a song I love, but we've grown apart. Shrug.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Lyra, "Miami" is the worst track on "Pop" by a loooong mile. "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" is the sexiest thing they've ever recorded, "Do You Feel Loved" is quite funky. "Discotheque" and "Mofo" both rock very hard in an odd, acquired taste way.

Sue, I don't like the second Best Of compilation either, mainly because they used alternate takes of several songs that just ruined them. I mean, how can you even take the Boom-Cha's out of "Discotheque?" It's the best part!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The "Discotheque" video was fun as well - U2 as the Village People gets a chuckle out of me every time.

Especially since you can tell Larry is really pissed off about it.

edited because not only am I redundant, but I like to repeat myself and say things over and over.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The extras on this Very Special iPod kind of bite.

But it's black! With a red clicky wheel!

I really don't care one way or the other about U2. I'm just sulking because they're the band that gets the gothy color-scheme iPod.

(hugs shiny shiny early birthday present 40gig iPod.)

Yeah. I mean, if they'd sell the same color one without the shite U2 stuff, I'd be tempted. But, what, you couldn't have given it to, say, The Bowie? (Although the Compleat Bowie would almost fill up 20 gB, anyway. Or maybe not almost.)

Art Crawl!!!

Ooh, what color would the Bowie ipod be?

I think that there should be a number of choices.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"Discotheque" and "Mofo" both rock very hard in an odd, acquired taste way.

Yeah, I like "Discotheque." I don't think it was an acquired taste for me; I saw the video and liked the song right off.

Ooh, and also? "Mofo" was awesome live, especially with the remix of M's "Pop Muzik" as an intro. Dang, I love that combo. I feel the need to hear it right now.
