Least favorite song by a favorite artist/band? Easily--Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have some awful songs: "Sweetheart Come" (repeating "sweetheart" over and over again eventually sounds like you're saying "sweet tart" and ruins the effect), "Babe I'm On Fire" (funny the first time or two but not good), the cover of Leonard Cohen's "Avalanche" (nearly incomprehensible), and "Black Hair" (painfully repetitive) all spring to mind immediately.
I'm less successful at thinking of a truly horrible Tom Waits song.
Easy – “Gary’s got a Boner” by the Replacements.
A friend of a friend loves that song. She liked to talk about "the pathos of 'Gary's got a Boner.'" Using "pathos" to describe that song just cracks me up.
Forgive me if someone’s already brought them up, but the new Snow Patrol is my favorite album in the world right now. Tom, I know you would love it. Kind of Ride/MyBloody Valentine like stuff.
Sounds cool.

All skits on every hip-hop album ever.
And the Riobot gets it in one! With an Amen from Angus.
Tommyrot, I think your friend meant "bathos." It's easy to get them mixed up.
I need a song ID. The group is "Bowling for Soup." The song is something about "Back in 1985" and is about being stuck in the 80s. Help?
Bowling For Soup has a website. (it's uh...bowlingforsoup.com) Looks like the song is called "1985" - they have the video on their site.

Wait - even the first De La Soul?
Thanks Hec. And that explains why I haven't been able to buy the song - not yet released.
How about a little good news?
Ganked from SFGate:

(Touch & Go). The longtime Mekons vocalist (the Dusty Springfield of political country punk) finally follows up her dreamy 1999 release Cowboy Sally's Twilight Laments for Lost Buckaroos.
