Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

OMG.

I just spent the last hour browsing the iTunes music store for the VERY FIRST TIME. This is going to be soooo bad. Because $.99 per song? Reasonable! And there are MILLIONS OF SONGS. I now know of what others have spoken - the allure, the addiciton, you want it? you got it. ONE CLICK BUYING.

We are such adaptable creatures - I'm already kind of liking the swoopy way windows disappear into the dock in OS X. Still pissed about having to rebuild all my playlists in iTunes though.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Starting in Feb. 1-in-3 bottles of Pepsi will win you a free song from iTunes. They're giving away 100 million songs! (They've only sold 30 million so far, IIRC.) Time to start stocking up on Pepsi.

I had to make substitutions a few times due to crappy sound quality and time, but here's my liner notes.

Sweet, Jon. We'll hang out! Melissa Lipscomb is the only other semi-Buffista I know in Austin, but I think that there's at least one other person I don't know.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good sets galore! Now for the price of one mix I get to look forward to my mail for a month.

I think I'll be sending mine out this afternoon, when I make Emmett walk down to the P.O. with me. Just have to finish the cover and don't worry, tina, I've got your correct zip code.

Here are my liner notes.

Now to burn and mail!

Hey, Erin, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that your "Grits Ain't Groceries" song is not the George Jones song, but is the same song as Little Willie John's "All Around the World".

In fact, now that I think about it, I have the Little Milton song on the Oxford American 2003 Southern Sampler, and it IS the same song as the Little Willie John song.

If it isn't, eggs ain't poultry and Mona Lisa was a man.
