Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

big taunter.

You darn tootin'.

Just bought our plane tickets last night!

Sweet! I'm taking off the whole time, so let's hang out.

Fiery Furnaces are an odd band.

You can say that again. I like how they have this Harry Smith vibe running through their music, even though their sound has a Nuggety (and sub-Kraftwerk-y at times) feel.

1 hour 19 minutes and 16 seconds.

I found this exercise to be a bit like trying to get dressed for an event that you are nervous about. I had 6 binders of CDs out and would have sweared to you last night that I own NO music. I also realized that there are many many albums that rarely get a listen. My poor 90s country CDs, they just sit there sad.

The CD for the musical Wicked is absolutely amazing. I must see the stage production at some point.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Have any Buffistas seen Wicked? I heard it got lousy reviews, but that means nothing to me.

have not seen it, but don't know anyone who really liked it. It was significantly different from the book is what I heard.

A lighthearted romp?

Also -- Hayden -- I'd be psyched to spend time with you. I'd love to meet Julie Beth as well. Are there any other Austinistas?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The liner notes for my Brittle Innings mix are up.

OMG.

I just spent the last hour browsing the iTunes music store for the VERY FIRST TIME. This is going to be soooo bad. Because $.99 per song? Reasonable! And there are MILLIONS OF SONGS. I now know of what others have spoken - the allure, the addiciton, you want it? you got it. ONE CLICK BUYING.

We are such adaptable creatures - I'm already kind of liking the swoopy way windows disappear into the dock in OS X. Still pissed about having to rebuild all my playlists in iTunes though.
