Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

And, since Jon is too modest by proxy to mention it

P'shaw. Don't be so sure. I like Clem Snide lots, but there's stuff of theirs that makes me yawn. The cover of "Mirror", however, is definitely not a yawner. The Aguillera cover is quite good too. Oh, there's a new album in the can but I haven't heard it yet. I believe it's out in the fall.

I am a sad panda because Pete & Anna of The Pee Wee Fist are moving to NYC at the end of this month. We've got two Boston gigs in July, but after that, no one knows what will become of the current TPWF lineup. :(

That sucks. But my friend Alex likes the Lothars better anyway.

Are you ready to be strong?

I love both your bands Jon but yes I prefer the Lothars as well.

But that is sad about TPWF.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks guys. Did you see my post in F2F? The Lothars will be performing at Noreascon (big SciFi convention) at the Friday night Retro Hugo awards ceremony, and maybe again later in the weekend (Labor Day). More details when I have them.

Are you ready to be strong?

Well neither of those things is in Chicago! What were you thinking?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

That you'd come here to visit, of course!

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I'm sorry about Pete & Anna. Hope both of y'all still come down for SXSW next year.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The cover of this week's New Yorker has an illustration of Ray Charles on the $10 bill. I think that's the best idea ever.

Sure beats the shit outta Ronnie Raygun being on the $10.

Brother Ray for the ten today!!!

hip deep in pie

I'm listening to Jon's show AIFG!! (Though I had to try three streams before I found one that wasn't full.)

Congrats on 20 years Jon!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Congratulations, Jon! I'm listening, too.
