Tell me everything you know about Jeff Buckley. For example, he was drunk when he drowned, right?
Did we get a blood alcohol report with his autoposy? I think he was drunk, or otherwise fucked up because it displayed poor judgement at the least.
He's Tim Buckley's child, inherited his Dad's famous voice, and also died tragically young (though he died even more tragically young than his Dad did. It's kind of like the whole Bruce Lee/Brandon Lee thing.)
Zep's (almost) never wrong. "The Crunge" was a big ol' shout out to the Godfather, and in perfect JB tradition it made both perfect sense and no sense at all.
Oh, I totally know that. It was always fun back in high school watching the metal meatheads trying to wrap their pointy heads around the very existence of that song.
And in a completely different way from Plant's usual meaningless (ooh, sacrilege...) lyrics.
Totally agree with you on this - I've always loved Plant, but mainly because his voice is another instrument, not because he writes any lyrics that are particularly note-worthy (the current example excepted).
Hey, Rio! Jeff Buckley's mom used to let bands practice in their garage. He was in Kilgore Trout and Sweat Bee in Tuscaloosa and then the Ohms in Athens, GA. Super-nice guy and a talented musician, too. But you're probably talking about the famous one.

Oh, come on!

Fuckin' poetry, man!
The radio show I host? My first program was on June 28, 1984. That means it's my 20th anniversary!
This Friday and next, from 8-10am EDT, I'll be doing a retrospective, playing a few songs from each of the last 20 years. Indie-rock songs that "defined" either that year in general or my show in particular.
Congrats Jon!! Do you already have your playlist all picked out? How fun would that be. Did it take forever?
Fuckin' poetry, man!
Yeah, have another toke, ya effin hippy!!! :)
Incidentally, BIG TIME congrats on the 20th Anniversary!
Also, RIO!!! BEEP!
What they said: CONGRATULATIONS, Jon B!
Have y'all noticed that the main reason "The Tain" is rocking is because it stole the riff from "The Immigrant Song"?

Yes, it's taken me hours and hours. I have my playlists going back to early 1986, so I've been reading through them all. I've got the first 10 years (this friday's show) mostly set, but I still need to make some final decisions. 1992 introduced so many great bands!!

You know that "The Tain" means "the Hammer of the Gods," right?
Okay, I made that up.

Heh. Emmett watches the kitten vikings at least once a week.
Congratulations, Jon. That's a huge accomplishment. June 28, 1984 was my 23rd birthday - and I was in Boston for that one. If I'd been listening to your show, I wouldn't have been such a Fire Engines Ignoramous.
