I like the Stone Roses, but I don't think that they're the best of anything - - probably not even of bands that came out of Manchester in the same year they did.

Anyone got any songs that shouldn't be left out?
A instant happy-making song for me on any summer mix is "Acuff-Rose" by Uncle Tupelo, but it will only work if you like the alt. country fiddle thing.
I am making mixes for my b-day party and they are difficult given how little new music I have bought over the past few months. But today - I will buy the new Wilco, Ghost is Born, FINALLY. I am not expecting it to be too mixable, though.

I saw a band last night that listed the Stone Roses as their #1 influence. That seems oddly coincidental.
