Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Nice! I'm listening to the Elvin interview right now.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

The current show or the page I linked to? I can never get Fresh Air when it's on, the servers are always overloaded.

The page you linked to. I don't think Fresh Air runs here until 3 or 4 central.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So, SA, how do you like Snow Patrol?

Hec! Remember when you said that you were listening to my new favorite CD I didn't know about? You were right. Jill Tracy's Diabolical Streak is brilliant.

I'm totally into the Dresden Dolls now. It took me a little while to warm up to the CD, but it's great. "Girl Anachronism" still rocks my socks, "Coin-Operated Boy" is bouncy fun, "Gravity" and "Bad Habit" are new favorites, and "The Perfect Fit" and "Truce" are lovely.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

While you're down there, see if you can't get to the Saturn Bar in the 9th Ward sometime. It's sleazy as hell and apparently Tom Waits hisself is known to hang out there.

We didn't go this time, but I've been to the Saturn Bar before. When I walked in they had Johnny Guitar on the TV and Johnny Cash playing on the jukebox.

Isn't it great? I knew you'd love it. Perfect goth cabaret.

Goth cabaret? Dresden Dolls are cabaret-y, and they wear mime-y makeup.

It's fabulous. The only problem I have is that, in my head, Doomsday Serenade gets re-mixed with Rasputina's Doomsday Averted.

Now I wanna see a Jill Tracy/Rasputina double-bill. Which, in my perfect world, would happen this Thursday when I go see Rasputina.
