Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I'm picturing what my cats would do with a stuffed mouse...and feeling kinda nauseous.

Hey, David, are any of the articles about Austin bands? I was thinking about trying to organize an Austin release party, especially if it would attract you & your co-editor out this way.

Hmmmm. I really should've done that Doctor's Mob piece, huh?

Well, in Texas we've got Butch Hancock, Willie Nelson...Oh! K.McCarty! I wrote about her. Sir Douglas Quintet?

Dang. I blame all my writers from Austin. Wait a minute, that would be you.

We could probably get Butch but not Willie. Is Auggie Meyer still alive?

Well, I figured someone more qualified would write about the Big Boys.

We might could get a Hoot Night going, though. I'll do the Jandek covers.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

I just listened to Joe Ely's "West Texas Waltz", which is just about my favorite song these days. Love that lap steel! And that accordion! I met a young cow dog/And I told him how now, dog/You're a borderline collie/And I'm a borderline fool
