My mix is done! 21 songs, 78 minutes and 43 seconds. Just need to make the cover and finish the liner notes. And I found a good "hate the artist, love the song."
I hope Gandalfe approves.
'Sleeper'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I've posted my "liner notes" here in case anyone wants a sneak preview.
Since I'm not taking part I looked-- it sounds intriguing, of course!
I have 80 minutes and 11 seconds. Think it'll work?
Anne, you can sometimes squeeze that extra 11 seconds in on a CD, but you have to have a program (like Nero) that will allow you to do it, which not all people in your chain may have, y'know. So, I guess I'm saying: your call.
Hey, check it out! Angus and I have a song in common. I think I'll post my liner notes later today when I finish them.

You really ought to get it below 80 minutes. How much space do you have between tracks? The default for many burning programs is two seconds, but you may be able to override that to something less.
(edited to make more sense)
I also looked at Angus' liner notes. I'll say only that my favorite song of the moment is probably Will Young's "Leave Right Now." Which puts me in no position to criticize others' guilty pleasures.
OK, I threw some semi-edited liner notes onto my blog, too: http://fater.blogspot.com
I hope Gandalfe approves.
Unlikely - I'm a disagreeable sonuvabitch. :)
Parental advisory - if I can manage to make it fit, my "Song You Love Just For The Title" is a bit blue. However, I'd have to shave off 20+ minutes, which probably won't happen.
I think Teppy's going to like my mix, too. I hope.
I suggest you all follow Hec's and erinaceous's lead and tailor your mixes to me....
Angus, I *adore* your Road Trip song! I have a song by the same artist on my mix, but from a different album.
Also, I remember posting here (or possibly in my LJ) that I suspected my car CD player was in league with the RIAA, because it didn't like to play burned CDs. (Really, it was just an older-model CD player.)
Well, that problem is fixed, since I had to buy a whole new car this weekend, and it has a newer CD player *and* a tape player.
Yes, it's a bit of overkill -- buying a car just to get a better CD player, but sometimes overkill is the right way to go....
