Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I think Teppy's going to like my mix, too. I hope.

I suggest you all follow Hec's and erinaceous's lead and tailor your mixes to me....

Angus, I *adore* your Road Trip song! I have a song by the same artist on my mix, but from a different album.

Also, I remember posting here (or possibly in my LJ) that I suspected my car CD player was in league with the RIAA, because it didn't like to play burned CDs. (Really, it was just an older-model CD player.)

Well, that problem is fixed, since I had to buy a whole new car this weekend, and it has a newer CD player *and* a tape player.

Yes, it's a bit of overkill -- buying a car just to get a better CD player, but sometimes overkill is the right way to go....

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Steph, I totally agree, seeing as how the final clincher for me when I bought my truck was that it came with a dual CD/tape player. Very nice...

Still working on my mix. Still need to rip a couple of things off vinyl.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I changed out one song for another and managed to get my playlist down to 7 hours, 59 minutes. Whew.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Not sure if this place was mentioned, but I found it to be a good source of songs by year:

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

7 hours, 59 minutes. Whew.

7 hours? Are you sharing the Ring Cycle with us?

Ooh, thanks for that link, Jon! I now know that my year of birth had some REALLY bad music. On the other hand, would it be terribly wrong to include the Cantina Band Theme from Star Wars on my mix? :)

So very Proustian for me. All the music from the movie, actually. I remember when they re-released it, when the theme started and the text started scrolling up the screen, I actually got teary.

I was embarassed, until my friends told me they had the same reaction.

I have no idea why I typed "7 hours." Feh.

Alas, I have no Ring Cycle to share, but I would be more than happy to share a boatload of Puccini, Verdi, and Mozart.

Roguish Laird

The Ring Cycle lasts a lot longer than 7 hours, actually...

Hayden, I can't see those liner notes on your blog...I'm intrigued to find out what song we have in common!

It's alphabetical, dear Angus.

Jon, did you know this?

Jolly Roger Recording in Hoboken, New Jersey recently completed the recording and mixing of the soundtrack for the MTV full length movie of the poplar animated series "DARIA."

The soundtrack was written and performed by JANET WYGAL of the band SPLENDORA who originally recorded the theme song of the long running MTV weekly DARIA animated series.

That's from 2001. In case you wondered what Janet was up to. I'm writing about The Individuals for the book.
