Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm much easier to stump than most people imagine.

Note to file: change Jon's nickname to Stumpy.

Also, parental Buffistas, at least one song on my mix is R-rated

Heh. I was tempted to include some of Buck Naked and the Bare-Bottom Boys pornabilly tunes. The only band I know that could do a medley of songs about anal sex. But...you know, they did it with panache.

Yes, I've got an R-rated song too. Well, it uses the f-word fairly prominently, at least. (Eg in the title.) But I think people will like it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I have fourteen songs so far and they clock in at one hour. Hmm.

I've posted my "liner notes" here in case anyone wants a sneak preview.

I was pleased to find that some of my favorite songs were released in my birth year. While searching these out, I was also able to find some songs released in my mom's birth year to go on her next mix cd.

The whole CD burning thing has proven to be a godsend when it comes to coming up with gifts for my mom. It turns out that I've got a good ear for songs she'll like, even if they're by artists she would normally loathe (Fiona Apple, for example), and she loves getting mix CDs.

Up with the sun

My mix is done! 21 songs, 78 minutes and 43 seconds. Just need to make the cover and finish the liner notes. And I found a good "hate the artist, love the song."

I hope Gandalfe approves.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I've posted my "liner notes" here in case anyone wants a sneak preview.

Since I'm not taking part I looked-- it sounds intriguing, of course!

I have 80 minutes and 11 seconds. Think it'll work?

Anne, you can sometimes squeeze that extra 11 seconds in on a CD, but you have to have a program (like Nero) that will allow you to do it, which not all people in your chain may have, y'know. So, I guess I'm saying: your call.

Hey, check it out! Angus and I have a song in common. I think I'll post my liner notes later today when I finish them.
