Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm playing the new Mission Of Burma album

Oh, ya know, blow me!

When's it out for the masses, if you know?

Did you see any of their recent shows. I caught one of them at Avalon (at least a year ago) and it ROCKED!!! Stuff of theirs that on album that sounds really esoteric really comes together live (some of which, they have said in recent interviews, was just slowing the songs down a little so you can take them in).

I look more rad than Lutheranism

He was also instrumental (so to speak) in bringing Esquivel to the world.

Also don't know who Esquivel is.

I'm thinking there needs to be a Music For The Uninformed thread, where we can all squee over the new JC Chasez album.

Ann, that's a ferret.

But Teppy, then we'd need a thread for the Differently Informed, where we can have deep conversations about obscure album cuts by Gary Lewis and the Playboys.

No no no. Music stew. That's what this thread should be. IMO

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's what this thread is -- B-sides and Rarities.

Nuh uh! You just have to be willing to write about it. I love a good description of pop - like Angus' long posts about Justin's album when it came out.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I certainly wasn't so expert on The Miracle Legion to appreciate a side project by some of their members.

Wazzat?

When's it out for the masses, if you know?

May 4.

Did you see any of their recent shows. I caught one of them at Avalon (at least a year ago) and it ROCKED!!!

That must've been two years ago last January. I saw the very first "warm-up" show at Lilli's, one of the Irving Plaza shows and one of the Paradise shows. That was all that January. Then I saw them last October in Northampton and Providence. As much as I liked the first reunion shows, they've only gotten better!. Finally, I just saw them last month at SXSW.

They're playing at Avalon in May, but it's the weekend of the F2F.
