'Out Of Gas'

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm thinking there needs to be a Music For The Uninformed thread, where we can all squee over the new JC Chasez album.

No no no. Music stew. That's what this thread should be. IMO

JC who?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

then we'd need a thread for the Differently Informed

That's what this thread is -- B-sides and Rarities.

t screams "JC!!! I want to have your babies!!!"

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's what this thread is -- B-sides and Rarities.

Nuh uh! You just have to be willing to write about it. I love a good description of pop - like Angus' long posts about Justin's album when it came out.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I certainly wasn't so expert on The Miracle Legion to appreciate a side project by some of their members.

Wazzat?

When's it out for the masses, if you know?

May 4.

Did you see any of their recent shows. I caught one of them at Avalon (at least a year ago) and it ROCKED!!!

That must've been two years ago last January. I saw the very first "warm-up" show at Lilli's, one of the Irving Plaza shows and one of the Paradise shows. That was all that January. Then I saw them last October in Northampton and Providence. As much as I liked the first reunion shows, they've only gotten better!. Finally, I just saw them last month at SXSW.

They're playing at Avalon in May, but it's the weekend of the F2F.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You just have to be willing to write about it.

Or be like me, and not give a shit when all you can do is squee inarticulately. "DUDE -- fucking HANDEL, man! Did you hear that shit???"

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

"DUDE -- fucking HANDEL, man! Did you hear that shit???"

Or as PrestonfuckingSturges put it, "Fucking nobody handles Handel like you fucking handle Handel!"

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Angus turned me on to Justin's album, much to the mockage of my friends and relations. "Cry Me A River" was on my end-of-year mix, and I stand by it, too.

hip deep in pie

Angus has forced me to love "Cry Me a River". But in a way where it never fails to crack me up whenever I hear it. I find it over the top and hilarious.
