Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Up with the sun

Hey tina, which Death Cab for Cutie album would you recommend I start with? I was listening to "The New Year" and finally twigged to how good they were. (I had heard them before, but they were opening for the Dismemberment Plan and I kind of gave them the opening act treatment.)

Pretty much universally the critics are saying that their newest, Transatlanticism, is their best. I love it. I also have We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes and like it a lot - but not as much.

I think you asked for a 2-disc 93 acoustic set by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. Is the address I sent the Uncle Tupelo CDs to all those months ago still good?

Yeah, that was it; I think there was something else, but neither of us could remember. Same address is good.

Man, I'm excited that I might get to see Death Cab. Woo!

We should coordinate on this. Cause, dude. I just realized it's NEXT WEEK. If you can get a car to come up, we're there.

Oh, my. Melissa Ferrick is coming to the same venue on May 19.

Did you get my last comment, Steph? Because smonster suggested we prebuy tickets to avoid them selling out, and if it's assigned seating at the venue we should buy tickets together. Plus I still don't know how much it costs--is there a link to this event? Ticketmaster or something?

I thought I listed the prices in my last LJ reply -- sorry! Tickets are $14 advance/$16 door -- no assigned seating, because it's a club venue, with a bar, some tables, a way cool balcony, and a big-ass dance floor. (Though it's all slightly seedy, which adds to the appeal. Seriously.)

Check it out here. (Scroll down to get to the correct date.)

Brilliant. Think we're good with tickets at the door? I'll scout out a car at lunch.

I would think we're good with tickets at the door, but I can also go get them ahead of time (I live right around the corner from one of the places that's selling them), to be sure.

Let me know when you have a car for sure, and I'll get the tickets. You can come up any time after 5:30, and we can have dinner before, if that works for you.

It should. Thursday, right? I'm done with convo and I'm done with stuff at five, so I'll come up right after that.

You didn't tell me the Ravonettes are coming April 30! Holy dude, man. They're awesome.

May 19 is my finals week, but that means nothing. Finals week is traditionally my relaxy week. Maybe we could do a miniF2F in preparation, if you want to go.

Wednesday, actually. (Thursday is some band called "Elf Power." I'm a little afraid.)
