It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

moonlit, were you born in 1960? There's good stuff from then. Ray Charles is a good bet from that era.

Roguish Laird

moonlit, what's the problem with "Tie Me Kangaroo Down," or have you already chosen that as your "local" song? ;-)

"When the world's run by fools it's the duty of intelligence to disobey." Martin Firrell

Bingo Hec. There's also Elvis, Everly Brothers, and Orbison, all such tear-jerker songs, The Shadows, oh and Teeny, Weeny, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

and My Old Man's A Dustman.

I did think about it Angus and also the tragic Little Boy Lost

Hee.

12 CDs, msbelle? Hmm, that's rather more of an undertaking than one! But I do have this thread on my message center now. OTOH, I feel rather not up to the task when realizing the company I'm in!

You only have to compile one CD. It's a big circle. You pass on your CD to the person on your right. The person on your left passes you a CD which you copy for yourself (if you like) and then pass on to the person on your right. This continues until you get your own CD back.

Ah HAH! So I only come up with one mix, but I burn myself others. That, I could do.

I have bookmarked the post, and shall work on it this weekend. When is it due?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport

I used to love this song.

My birth year had lots of Perry Como songs, but none that I'd ever heard of.

Heading up to Somerville today. I guessing that there's at least one used record store near Harvard Square, so the paln is to head up a little early and try to find some of the CDs I need.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Curse you, wee Hec. I've just bought that Gap Band song from iTunes.

Why do I think that the iTunes store is gonna be taking all my money for a while?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Kat P., if I trade in some of my vinyl for cheap CDs I think I'll make a compilation of that early 80s dance/funk/pop stuff. I'll make sure you get a copy. (You too, Shawn.)

Woo-hoo! BTW, I'm listening to the second coming Dizzee Rascal right now. I didn't realize how much of a throwback he sounded-- "Fix Up Look Sharp" sounds like it should be in Breakin' 2.
