I'm rediscovering David Sylvian lately. All I'd ever heard from him was Brilliant Trees and some of his Japan stuff, And now I'm really delving into it, with Everything and Nothing, Secrets of the Beehive, and Dead Bees on a Cake.
Damn. This is some good stuff, if you're in a mellow mood.
Also recently reminded that if you're royally pissed off, there's nothing quite like some Ministry to take you right over the edge into kill-the-world-rage.
Gandalfe, you know David Sylvian put a new album out recently called Blemish, yeah? It's very good (well, I like about half of it, put it that way).
Angus, you're not around nearly enough.
It's on the Camp Yo La Tengo EP.

Kurt says: "How much uncalculated behavior do you see in rock concerts anymore?"
I think: "Nothing Courtney does is uncalculated."
I think: "Nothing Courtney does is uncalculated."
Just don't ask me to look at her calculator.
Just don't ask me to look at her calculator.
I
insist
that you look at her Texas Instruments!
I think: "Nothing Courtney does is uncalculated."
So all the stuff last week was part of her cunning plan to get back custody of her kid? No doubt she's image conscious, and the image she wants to project is put-upon rebel it seems, but I think she's genuinely fucked up and OOC. I'm certainly not above a little schadenfreude, or at least not above laughing at the spectacle if not actually enjoying another's pain, but this is sad. And poor Frances Bean! The tenth anniversary of Kurt's suicide will get a lot of media time & her mother's disintegrating in public. Poor kid. I don't think it's an act. If it is it's like a drunk pretending to be sober: "Got 'em all fooled."
