Oh my god. What can it be? We're all doomed! Who's flying this thing!? Oh right, that would be me. Back to work.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I saw dylan a year or two ago - he was amazing. though i've heard that in recent years his concerts tend to be of the suck.

Aimee, I paid an unconscionable amount of money to a scalper to see U2, and $75 for Bette Midler doesn't sound unreasonable.

It's not so much paying $45 for a concert as it is paying $45 (plus the service fee, so really at least $50) for someone I'm a relatively casual fan of, who seems to be an erratic live performer from what I've heard.

On the other hand ... legend. Who might die/retire at any point, and I would be sad if I *never* saw him perform.

Maybe I should just rent "Don't Look Back."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ah yes, then that I get. But I tend to only go to concerts when I really really really love the performer.

And I have seen Bette before and she is astounding live. Like, I have never been so entertained than I have been at one of her concerts.

I paid $35 to see Dylan AND stood in line for a good 6 hours for the privilege. It was a very small and acoustically fantastic venue. And all I really got of out it was that I get to tell people that I saw Dylan. I love love love the man - but it just wasn't that great or memorable at all ( OK - I do remember that "Tangled Up in Blue" was just as great as I hoped it would be and I remember seeing one my professors smoking a j in the row in front of me.). And that was 8 or 9 years ago.

My Bowie!Freak friend offered me one of her cache of 3rd row center seats for Bowie here at a great venue. But $75? Nope. Notta gonna do it.

See, I do love Dylan. But I love him in a "have five CDs, most from the '60's" way, not an "own every CD and bootleg I can possibly get" one. I'm worried about the "songs I don't know" factor.

But, I think I have talked myself into buying the tickets anyhow. i'll see how I feel after lunch.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

but [Howard Jones] played in a small club here in Salt Lake (the Zephyr)

t raising a glass to the ghost of the dear old dump Every time I drive past that corner, I look up to see who's playing.

"Dance With My Father" is making me cry.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Every time I drive past that corner, I look up to see who's playing.

I know. It's so sad, they had so many great performers there.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

I saw Dylan on the tour he did with Paul Simon a couple years ago. I'm 'eh' on Dylan, love Paul Simon mightily.

DH has seen Dylan several times, said that the show we saw was excellent. It seemed 'okay' to me, but again, not a big fan. Also, I was newly pregnant and everything, including but not limited to: sitting down, standing up, breathing hard, and looking sharply to the left, made me feel a bit faint.

I can say everything was tuneful and sounded like music, two things that I've been told you can't always say about Dylan shows.

I was just sitting here listening to "Bob Dylan's Dream" from Freewheelin' and thinking - I'd go see him again. So - you know - that's not very helpful - just thought I'd throw it in.

Great great frankenmix hayden. I like it a lot. You used Lyra Jane's local artists song as the artist you hate song you like song. ("Waiting Room" Fugazi).

It was about 95% new to me so I need to listen to it a couple more times before I can pick out my faves. I think that was the first time I had ever heard Motorhead. Mock my lack of metal chops.

I know no one cares - but I just heard the first track off of the new Modest Mouse CD and am giddy like a 16 year old about it. It's always nerve racking to hear new stuff from bands you worship because it could suck. And then you'd be sad.
