LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

I think she cringed from the pain in her arms from beheading the Fell Beast. (At least that is what I got from my most recent re-watch.. . my most recent rewatch also showed me Legolas leaping over the wall to get ahead in the run for the Bridge of Khazad-Dum. . . how had I missed that the quatrillian times I've watched it before?)

I would have enjoyed the original dialogue.

There was some discussion here earlier as to whether the general public would have as much.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yes! They would have! There would be independent Eowyn fan clubs simultaneously emerging from the earth's core! There would be federally funded International Eowyn Day parades held in all the major metropolises! The world's average IQ would spontaneously rise, allowing everyone to appreciate the subtler nuances of dialogue instantly!

Dammit. My poor Eowyn.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I think she cringed from the pain in her arms from beheading the Fell Beast.

In The Complete Guide to Middle-Earth by Robert Foster it says this about Eowyn: In the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, with the aid of Merry she won great renown by slaying the Lord of the Nazgul and his steed. The evil coming from contact with the Nazgul-lord, amplified by the years of wating on Théoden in his dotage and by her hopeless love for Aragorn, caused her to succumb to a severe case of the Black Breath. Aragorn released her from the illness with athelas...

Black Breath

Yeah, she got hit with that, but t damn, where's my copy of the book, bugger when Theoden went down, she was in full "Go ahead and kill me, I don't give a damn, you're not getting him" mode.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The Premiere mag article (mostly Viggo's photos with some tidbits at the end) is here. Some funny stuff from the tidbits:

"On the very last day of shooting Aragorn fighting the Orcs, Peter quietly gave Viggo an Uzi, loaded with blanks, for the last take." (Dan Hennah)

"Did you know that Billy [Boyd] and Dom [Monaghan] were homosexual lovers for most of the filming? Apparently, at a millenium party in Wellington, they 'discovered' each other. The noise was, allegedly, horrendous. They do spend rather a lot of screen time missing each other and emoting. Good luck to them, I say." (Bernard Hill)

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica
