Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".

Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I think the early scene that sumi referenced is after the opening scene with Frodo and Sam, when they

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Yeah, I saw that bit (from the screencap) in the promo someone had up. I continue to feel that they didn't get my Eowyn onto the screen, and it makes me sad. Miranda Otto's version is... I dunno. Fragile, rather than brittle. Too warm.

Yay for the scene coming back at all, mind you.

They've added a celebratory scene from Endor at the end, Liese. You're better off not know--oh, crap.
