One thing is clear after seeing the Serenity trailer at Comic Con.
I am NO Jeff Mejia.
I remember two things very distinctively, though. One I forced myself to remember because I had to act it out for ita, which I hope to do soon.
Mal and Zoe peering into a wall safe of some sort. The camera perspective is from the inside of the safe looking out at them, and a pile of money inside the safe.
Zoe deadpans, and I'm paraphrasing because I'm no Mejia as clearly stated above, "We can finally give up this life of crime." Total deadpan. Total sarcasm, and extraordinary Zoe. I missed her so much I could have wept. That passed, because I was hot and annoyed.
The second thing was River, either stuck to the floor or the ceiling, who knows, it's River, desperate, terror-echo-whisper...Reavers...
And then nothing. From the trailer, the cast is just juicy.
Sigh.
Can't wait to see the real trailer and then the real movie myself.
(Too bad I cannot spell. I blame the humidity. Yeah -- that's right -- it's all the freaking dampness in the air.)
Wait! I thought you didn't like the trailer, Allyson! Why am I confused?
Did I say that somewhere? I didn't think I wrote about the trailer, but about how I felt about the Q&A. It all seemed so awkward.
The Q&A was painful. I wanted to hurt the Buffy/Angel/Fray people.
And I love buffy/angel/fray.
It wasn't their moment....
We are obviously have a dearth of spoilers. Adam did mention that Summer was a big damn moviestar.
People more imaginative than me could extrapolate from there....
Well, as it's a misquote from an episode, we could extrapolate that plot items from that episode are going to present in the movie. As it's been applied to Summer-- where the phrase "big damn heroes" was applied to Zoe and Mal in the episode-- we could guess that there's going to be a little role-reversal; personally, I think River's going to rescue Mal and Zoe from a backward world, somewhere that's regressed from space travel, and has decided Mal and Zoe are witches because they have comparatively advanced technology.
Like that, Tamara?
What a plot shift! River as heroine. Perhaps she'll save Simon, too. That would make a friend of mine
very
happy.
Good theory! I am thinking that River will save the day too.
