Even though this is the spoiler thread, I'm almost afraid to mention it...
Did anyone else catch Alan's interview where he said what Wash's real name is? I'm hoping it's true, although I was always fond of the Jerry Lee theory.

I remember NF once mentioning the name Washburn. I have always hated the Jerry Lee theory so I am hoping that post at fff.net is really Alan.
There's a post somewhere supposedly from Alan (but unconfirmed) saying his character's full name is "Hoban Washburne."
Joss has said Wash is short for "Washburn."
I still have no idea where "Jerry Lee Warren" came from, other than IMDB, and they could've gotten it from anywhere or just made it up.
Maybe the movie will confirm things.

I don't know where the "Warren" came from either, but I do remember Mal calling Wash "Jerry Lee" once.
Are you sure sure he wasn't talking to Kaylee?

That has been debated ad naseum. I don't think he said Jerry Lee. I think he said Kaylee.
What script is it?
It is Our Mrs. Reynolds when Wash and Kaylee are under the consol admiring the sabotage that Saffron did.
I think.
ETA: It is the third to last scene in Our Mrs. Reynolds. Right before Mal goes to confront Saffron on the snowy planet.
Okay, this is the first time I've heard any mention of the name "Jerry Lee" but I do remember the exchange you're all talking about. I also remember being perplexed about why Mal was saying "Jerry Lee".
The shooting script and dvd captions say Mal's line was "Nice work, Kaylee," to which she replies "Weren't soon enough to help."
(search for 'despondent' to jump to the line)
A line flub, perhaps. "Jewel" starts with a j-sound. Maybe Mr. Fillion had an "Oh, Sarah" near-miss.
