Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Good morning! It was very hot yesterday. I didn't actually go outside, but was dripping with sweat a couple of times anyway. I should maybe have chosen a different day to try to fix the reclining chair.

Speaking of which, do you have any ideas about where I could get a bolt (as in nuts and bolts) filed down? The 1/2" one is too short and the 3/4" is too long. Grrr.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I hear they have huge stockpiles of WMDs stocked away. You know how much havok they could wreak with all those hockey sticks?

1935 US plan to invade Canada

In 1934, War Plan Red was amended to authorize the immediate first use of poison gas against Canadians and to use strategic bombing to destroy Halifax if it could not be captured.

Jeebus. Good thing Japan distracted us.

That's my whole point, we're 136 years old, and they treat us like we're 112. Hmph.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Happy 136th, Canadians!

(the ones in my time zone, anyway)
