"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

preens

wonders if JZs post means I'm going to have to duel Hec?

doesn't care

Seriously, though, when there was talk that Xander was originally to be the Glory host (and talk about resulting angst - that would have taken some cojones on ME's part), it pinged me how that would have been a great way to get Riley out of the show. You could even have broken them up, but had Riley stay around town, lurking in a Spikely fashion (which could have provided amusement - duelling stalkers!).

Even the big "who is Glory" reveal could be fun - you still have Ben around, and red-herring the hell out him (show Glory changing into "unknown guy" at some point), have the scene with him and Dawn at the hospital, have Riley come to pick up Dawn and then do the reveal (and off Ben, or at least crazy him up, in the process). It even makes sense that Buffy would call Riley in SPIRAL if she didn't know he was also Glory.

When to bring in Dawn is the big sticking point (yeah, I know, NEVER) in terms of how the season played out as aired vs. the above.

eta could I possibly have used the word "even" more in one post?

even even even even even

What is even happening?

Okay, who is opening up their PayPal account for our collection to fund Frank to completely re-do season 5? Most of the cast must be available.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oooh, nice. That would've been excellent.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Victor, I am so sorry about your ferret. Spleen? A friend of mine in Oregon rescues ferrets. She has a fluctuating number of them. She is always looking for -good- homes for her babies. She knows people all over the USA.

Thanks. I'm not sure you're if you're asking if I want to take in another here, but the answer is, "not right away." We're a little tuckered out, nd just want to spend time seeing to Ludo (the youngest).

Watched a good chunk of Season 4 last night. Pretty much everything from Something Blue" to "Who Are You?" I'd completely forgotten how good the Faith story was.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'd completely forgotten how good the Faith story was.

Doesn't "This Year's Girl" kick ass? GLASS DOOR.

Suppressed due to the serum, according to this framing.

That, or the chip that comes out in Primeval (in some ways, that's better - since it's a "control" chip with demonic origins), or as a result of whatever the remnants of the Initiative had to do to Riley in season 5 (Out of My Mind, wasn't it?).

I like it being the chip, because then Glory can first emerge when Riley's gone off to D.C. at the beginning of Restless. Then whatever the soldiers do to permanently fix Riley allows Glory to unleash herself even more often.

For my next trick, I will reduce the amount of Buffy/Angel schmoop-angst in season 3 by turning THE WISH into a four episode mini-arc that you're not sure the show is ever going to come back from...

Hmm, could be cool. I think your Riley is Ben plot switch is excellent, and I love The Wish with a deep and abiding passion, so you may be on to something. However, I'm not sure Season 3 needs much tinkering. It is about as good as it gets, in my view. S 5/6, way way not so much.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

In agreement here. The melodramatic schmoop was the one thing I didn't like about Season 3, but I'm not confident in anyone's ability to remove it and come up with something better than what Joss aired.

All Nonian is saying is that Buffy's one true love is Buffy.

Or that Buffy's going to live forever. Which, with two returns from being Mostly Dead and one from being REALLY, REALLY Dead, is perhaps not that ridiculous an idea.
