I don't have the S6 DVDs yet, but plan to buy them purely out of love for OMWF and the Villians/Two to Go/Grave season-ender.

I think Dawn was an interestign idea, but she wasn't especially well-executed. But I think the problem laid more with excessive other storylines than with MT's acting -- she did a pretty good job, all things considered. But maybe I just haven't watched enough to notice the flouncing.

I'm excited to see the Dawn-enhanced reality in the cartoon series, if it ever happens.

I think Matt and Lee have hit the nail on the head regarding the season six rewatch, at least for me. A lot of it isn't enjoyable, and so while many of us found it good/interesting/important the first time around, it's a frigging downer to face it again. The beginning is hard. There's a stretch from OMWF (or AtW) through Smashed that is enjoyable. For me, from Wrecked through Doublemeat Palace is hardly worth watching (although my husband likes "Gone" so I enjoy watching it for his sake--he's a bit of a Fury fan, I think).

Facing S7 is probably going to be worse. I am glad the show ended how it did. I think it's appropriate to the premise of the series, and the emphasis that was usually put on the fact that it's not fair to expect one girl to give up her whole life. But glrggg.

For me "good/interesting/important" qualifies as "enjoyable ." But then I love watching The Body.

It seemed pretty transparent to me. She was acting up and acting out, because her life sucked. Her father ignored her. She'd just found out she wasn't real. Her mother died. The only person who seemed to really love her died, and then was dragged out of heaven, and was a depressed crank who was ignoring her and babying her.

This came through like an anvil through tissue. I just couldn't buy that it was that Psych-101-ish.

Also? Summers blood. The monks made her out of Buffy, who shoplifted before she was a slayer (see the 'calling of the slayer' flashback in Becoming).

Now THIS I buy!

Villians/Two to Go/Grave season-ender.

You know, the first time I watched, I thought it was great and exciting and stuff, but watching it now, Dark Willow bugs me. She's so talky and antagonistic, but in an annoying rather than a threatening way. And then all that "I'm so juiced"/"Who's your supplier?" crap just brought the magic-is-drugs thing back.

While I enjoy invisibility as much as the next chap (and I found the invisible fight scene amusing), the completely ridiculous characterization of Buffy bugs the crap out of me. And Sarah Michelle Gellar sounds like she literally phoned in her performance. There was a lot of potential to be wrought from that premise as her issues were set up before she disappeared, but instead examining how Buffy feels not being there, she goes around playing stupid jokes on people. And really, who says, "So long, coppa!"?

I think you and Allyson are the only people I can remember being bothered by that part (I'm probably just forgetting). I am a bad person and actually enjoyed that part a lot.

Me too, but less so on a rewatch, and even less so with episodes I've already rewatched (which includes all of season 6).

Me too, but in addition to finding it good/interesting/important, I find it powerful, the way I find Becoming, Dead Things, Normal Again, and Seeing Red powerful.

Nah, they're not. I thought it was petty and unamusing. Sure, you can take a day off from saving the world, but I much prefer her other stupid past times (like Spike's dick).

Oh I don't care for Wrecked, or Gone, or DMP (I liked AYW) but every season has a few clunkers. For me seasaon 6 is tied with Season 3 in terms of a positive Great to Clunkers ratio.

The operative words being "for me" of course.
