What do you guys think was left hanging and never resolved through the years?

One small thing that I would have loved to have seen was the owner of the SUV coming back to find the Cro-Mags that Xander had locked in there during Beer Bad.

And I really do wish the mention of Xander's big lie (in whichever season 7 episode they mentioned it in) came to something. Actually, it would have made a good catalyst for Buffy's continuing alienation from the group. (I'll mention that I don't necessarily think that Xander was wrong, but I do think that Buffy has a right to know)

I thought that when they discussed in S7 it was implied that Buffy knew about it all along, but was only now bringing it up. I do agree with you though, the mention should have come to something. That's one of the reasons I've never been able to jump on the Drew Goddard bandwagon, I think he just throws in a lot of continuity to show that he can and then he does nothing relevant or interesting with it.

You know, I may be remembering this all wrong, because I pretty much refuse to watch S7 again, but I thought when Buffy said the "kick his ass" thing, she knew that Willow had never said it and had just never wanted to open this big can of worms before. Buffy wasn't surprised when Willow said, "I never said that!" was she? Because now I'm thinking that I've just made all this up.

ETA: I just found the transcript and you're definitely right, she thought that Willow really had said that, which, when I think about it, makes no sense. Why would Buffy believe that at the same time Willow was trying to do a re-souling spell, she would also tell Xander to tell Buffy to "kick his ass"? I always thought that (and I guess now this is a fanwank) that after Buffy discovered that Willow did the spell, that she realized Xander had lied to her (I think she probably relived that day quite a bit in her mind) and chose never to bring it up until S7 because it was too painful to contemplate.

I'm not sure that Buffy heard/processed what Willow was saying, because she and Xander were arguing. They just argued right past the comment.

She may have assumed that Willow deecided to try one last time after giving Xander the message.

Maysa, I saw it the way you did the first time, but upon rewatch I don't think that Buffy heard what Willow said at all.
