Is that fanwank or canon?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

That'd be fan wank.

Canon pretty firmly states it was Xander, and restates it in Selfless.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Pure, unabashed Fanwankâ„¢. But it fits his behavior pattern.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, sure it is. But it's the only way I can deal with (what I see as) a glaring flaw in what is otherwise almost a perfectly done piece. So I'ma stay over here in Egypt where I'm happy.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Xander Summoned Sweet is my personal "demon eggs? Come on!" I feel I'm owed one. I mean, I swallowed Summers blood. (Not literally.)

Thanks for all the fish.

Honestly, Xander would have copped to it as soon as he heard that people were combusting. I know what the show told us, I just can't believe it.

Even if you buy that it was Xander and that he should have copped to it, I have a hard time with him pestering Giles about how to stop it. He should not have been in that scene at all.

I'm going to have to assume he failed to make the connection until he saw the locket.

I have a plan.

I'm going to have to assume he failed to make the connection until he saw the locket.

I believe he did do it and knew what he was trying to do. Just not what the consequences were. I find it weak though that he didn't think there would be any, considering the life he's led since the 10th grade.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I find it weak though that he didn't think there would be any, considering the life he's led since the 10th grade.

It's especially weak after Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, how he talks about magic to Wil in Lover's Walk and speaking latin in front of the books. He damn well knows better.

Thanks for all the fish.

And in BBB he goes to Giles as soon as he twigs that something odd is happening.
