Becoming, Restless, Graduation Day, Chosen, Prophecy Girl, Grave, The Gift.
Pretty close to my list, but Grad Day gets docked for use of giant snake which is always a bad idea in the Jossiverse,
yet he just couldn't resist.
Joss, next time? Resist the snake.
Also I love Grave very much and would rank it behind Becoming Pt. 2. Though that is in part some of the oomph I got from watching Two to Go.
The Gift is last for me because I knew Buffy was coming back. It's not a bad episode for all that and Joss certainly made her earn her resurrection. But for me it totally undercut her death. Death oughta mean something narratively dammit.
Jean Grey shoulda stayed dead, and so should everybody else who got jerked back into the living and corporeal.

Joss tosses the Ourobouros Firefly script.

What about giant snake in Grave?
Oh. Wait. That was a penis temple. Never mind.
For anyone who cares, if you buy S5 of Buffy at Best Buy you get the movie for free.

Temples do usually have spires.
However? They seldom have naked women wrapped in snakes for decoration.
At least not in Minnesota.
Okay, maybe not in the Twin cities. Outstate? We'll see.
Any state that has several Paul Bunyans, a huge concrete Otter, A concrete Loon, a 40 ft Viking, a concrete Prairie Chicken, and a huge ball of twine....
Oh, look here...

This makes me worry
if they ever adapted Fray. He couldn't resist the giant snake there either.
Is Joss trying to tell us something, or is it his unconscious?

This was my reaction, too. It was completely undercut by the fact we knew she *had* to come back, because show no work without Buffy. So it really wasn't even a shocker.
And then they went with the "Willow does a spell" resurrection, which I always thought was the most boring possibility.
Joss may have been trying to tell us something with all the phallic snake business in Buffy. Subtle HoYay! as compared to that of Angel.

I'm willing to give him a pass (mostly) on the giant snake because I just loved loved loved the Mayor/Harry Groener. "The Gift" on the other hand, had a crappy build up and a crappy resolution ("It's all Summers' blood" my ass) & therefore gets cut no slack. Loved the gravestone, but that lost most of its zing since we knew the show was moving to UPN & the chances of it doing so w/o the lead character were roughly... oh, ZERO.

Well, y'know, eponymous main character a girl, so appearance of phallic symbols not necessarily indicative of HoYay!.
Now Angel repeatedly getting penetrated by wood, I got no argument against.
