Joss may have been trying to tell us something with all the phallic snake business in Buffy. Subtle HoYay! as compared to that of Angel.

Well, y'know, eponymous main character a girl, so appearance of phallic symbols not necessarily indicative of HoYay!.

The only finales I watched in real time were Restless, Chosen, The Gift and Grave, and I would rate them in that order.

Also, I swear to DOG! that I completely and totally beleived that Buffy was dead dead and that they would continue the show without her. It took me at least a day to realize that that wasn't true. I also thought perhaps SMG would leave the show and Buffy would end up in someone else's body.
