the guy touches people and brings them back from the dead. how is that not fantasy?
my personal rule of thumb for Boxed Set is that if it has any SFF concepts, it belongs there. Cupid and Kings? i wouldn't call either of them sci-fi or fantasy. Cupid probably will turn out to be that way, but as it stands he's a lunatic with a God complex. Kings is just AU and and AU doesn't equal SFF for me. if it were an AU with killer robots and time travel, that's a different story.
I think an agreement of what would fit in Boxed set is necessary. I would have never put Kings, Pushing Daisies or Chuck in there.
I think PD totally belongs in Boxed Set, but as for the others a Network Drama thread would speak to that need nicely.
I think this speaks pretty clearly to one major fact: people are looking for reasons to get discussion out of Natter. They're stumbling around trying to figure out what TV thread to put something in because they don't want to talk about them in Natter. So, is this Boxed Set worthy or is the Procedural or, hey, I forgot, this is on USA, it can go in Cable Drama.
I, for one, talked about Leverage in both Natter and Cable Drama, but prefer Cable Drama for the fact that I'm not usually a subscriber of Natter. I have tons of time on my hands right now, so I'm subscribed. Unemployment is at least good for one thing.
I deleted my last post because I don't really feel like devolving into an argument about one show fitting somewhere. But my point is that for me, the lines for things like Box Set aren't so bright. Maybe it's because I'm not a big consumer of SFF.
I always thought anything that can't (or doesn't) happen in Real Life belongs in Boxed Set. Which puts
Pushing Daisies
there for me, given the whole "coming back to life" thing. Is that an easier way to look at it?
I'm perfectly happy with the usage that the bucket threads are getting. I'm often behind on House or The Office or Life or The Mentalist, and it's easy for me to go find where discussion took place, or to post a point for discussion.
Also, Pacific Time sucks.
I don't think bucket threads work for casual fans of a genre. I liked talking about TAR, PR and ANTM in Natter and I miss chatting about them with Buffistas, but I don't quite have enough interest to seek out the reality thread.
I don't understand this. "Seek out" the thread? It's not hidden, or anything. It's 2 clicks once you're logged in.

I think that would put Dallas in there, and most soap operas, and probably MTV's the Real Life.
I love TAR, but I did pretty much gave up looking in the non-fic thread because of what seemed like a 10-to-1 post ratio about other shows. But that's just my preference since that and
Intervention
are practically the only "reality shows" I follow these days.

Sounds to me like this indicates the level of lack of interest, not that it's so arduous.
