Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

This discussion is only for opening a Dollhouse thread, as that is the proposal - correct? Or am I wrong? I think the Joss thing should be proposed afterwards, as it's a separate issue.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I agree with Sean. Two issues on the ballot -- the first being "open a dollhouse thread" the second being "Joss shows automatically get a thread."

Would really hate to have a thread per show if shows don't even make a full season.

I think that's a valid argument. I think my gut response to that is to point out that even really prolific TV people aren't all that prolific, Joss in particular. Dollhouse is his first new show since Firefly (movies, comics and web musicals notwithstanding). How many years apart is that? It's not like Joss is taking over network TV, so automatically crating a thread for each new show is, on average, happening once every five years or so.

Glamcookie can expand or contract her proposal as she pleases. Within one proposal, we often have several separate questions.

I think that is a legitimate position too, and as a supporter of the idea, I'll say I'm fine if that happens. I still offer it as a suggested amendment to GC. It's up to her if she wants to put it on her final ballot issue, or leave it up to someone else to propose as the next issue.

thirded. I think if the second half passes we could have another vote around precisely when a new Joss thread shall be opened.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Okay, I would like to the add that a new Joss show should automatically have a thread created with no vote necessay. When that should happen, I'm not sure (how much prior to air date). Also, what happens with Joss Web series? How should this be defined?

Art Crawl!!!

If it's a comic it can go in the Other Media thread - but if it's the second series of Dr. Horrible. .. possible have it's own thread.

I really want to open a Dollhouse thread because it seems off to discuss a show that's Joss' in the Minearverse area.

I mean, will people really want to continue to discuss Dollhouse in there if Tim's show gets picked up and Dollhouse is still running?

How about proposing that any future Joss show doesn't need a voting process, just a nomination and a second?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Wouldn't a web series legitimately fit in Other Media? I thought it was for Jossy works in other media. Or is it only for Buffyverse in Other Media?
