The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

And Beverly is me.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I agree with Jilli.

I have a very different relationship with the board these days. And that's my choice but it's not the choice I wanted to need to make.

Our wings are not tired

My relationship to the board changed years ago. I didn't like it but I wasn't in the majority so I just went with it.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

What is so different about the board now than compared to the golden age you all are talking about? I wasn't here then, and I'm curious to know what changed or was lost.

brillig

What do people feel is the ideal setup of the board?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My opinion: Buffy/Angel were still on the air.

For me it was boxed set systematically becoming the catchall thread for all the SF shows. I used to love to actually talk to people on the board about TV. Now I just don't. Bucket threads don't work for me. The love of bucket threads and cross pollination has cost me the ability to talk TV with some of my favorite folks. Yes I am bitter and sad about it and have been for years. I know that Boxed Set is the best thing ever for some. It is the worst thing ever for me. It totally altered my relationship to the board. So there you have it.

And so did I.

It's why we have the process we do. We propose ideas, talk them over, vote and then abide by that. I like that we do this. I don't always fall on the winning side, but we talk and then the majority wins.

Part of that process, to me, is that when statements are made about the results of a previous decision and it's subjective effectiveness, that I disagree with, I want to make my opinion known.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I don't have as much of a problem with the process as I do with why asking for new threads is unreasonable.

The process works (sort of), it's the reticence I understand very poorly.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What is so different about the board now than compared to the golden age you all are talking about?

For me? The Golden Age was when it was on Table Talk and there were a lot fewer posts so that I actually had time to read all the posts in all the threads. As posting volume has increased, that's become impossible. It makes me sad, but I suppose it was inevitable and I deal with it.
