If I may summarize, to get this show on the road, a graphic with a link on the front page (and every page?), with the understanding that it would be nice to let them know about anything we're doing in support. Is that a fair summary?
I will offer to count, btw, if no one else has.
I would add: Temporary edit to the Minearverse slug saying "Strike talk lives here!"
I'm all for the ideas presented here, whichever ones we wind up implementing. I'm also for direct support of the strikers, as I've driven by them several times, and was already thinking about actually putting in some time on the picket lines in some way. I'm glad to see a web site offering ways to do that, and to coordinate efforts.
I'm going to make a proposal once the vote finishes on this for an addition to our processes. I'm still mulling exactly what I'll be proposing, but basically the intention will be summarized as "Buffistas are not Ents".
But we are! We totally are!
Does that make you Quickbeam?
Well, I see this as a totally appropriate way of going about things. Yes, in this particular case it does appear that we are all pretty much thinking alike, however, I really don't like the idea of setting a precedent where we can derail our carefully put together voting process.
I also support the writers and hope that they get what they are asking for and that this gets resolved. However, I've also got a lot of friends who are now out of work who aren't writers, and who never get part of the back end. I know that it's not the writers that are causing this, it's the producers, but it's still tough to watch a lot of folks who are below the line basically losing their jobs.
Did not mean to derail the discussion now. Will bring it up at an appropriate time.
