Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
I'm concerned about the tenor of this discussion. I was attracted to b.org because I saw conversation that was witty and kind, snarky and respectful. It seems to me that we seem to be trending away from the kind and respectful part, at least in Bureaucraxy and Light Bulbs. It's there, and I've been very thankful to see folks step in to this discussion with empathy and calm.
I agree that there needs to be a process for adding threads; I'm not for adding threads willy-nilly and never have been. I just wish the process could be more respectful.
This comment is not meant to point fingers at any one or any opinion.

nevermind
I think the crux of my biscuit is that I'm not done talking about Firefly and I want to keep talking about it here
And you can, even if there is no dedicated Firefly thread. No one is saying "After the Firefly thread reaches 10,000, the thread is archived, no new thread is made, and no more Firefly talk anywhere."
Talk about it, by all means. Minearverse, Boxed Set, Natter -- lots of room.
Which is a fine, but actually finding that discussion will be difficult. We've shown recently that people like to be able to quickly find discussion on things, otherwise it gets lost.
Unless Aimee posts otherwise, I'm assuming the text of her proposal is:
Once the current Firefly thread has reached it's 10,000th post, we will discontinue the thread. Firefly discussion will then take place in whatever thread it lands.
Yes
No
No Preference
We need someone to volunteer to count votes. Preferably someone not very vested in the results.
Skimming to the end (I'm still catching up) to post that if there's a need for somebody to count the votes, then I'm volunteering for it.
[Edit: x-post with Jon]
Thanks, Nilly.
ita -- Can you do the votesy-pointsy thing?

If noone has any other suggestions, then yes. That is the text of my proposal.
Aimee, as ever, I'd argue against having No Preference. I still either people need to choose a preference or not vote if they truly have no opinion.
