S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I think part of my reason for thinking this isn't a particularly large bucket is because I was basing off the poll results, which identified House and Bones as the strongest draws, with Criminal Minds, WAT, and Numb3rs as less so. The results may have changed since then; I don't know. But having a a core few with a handful of "OMG James Marsters is a serial killer on CSI *again*" posts doesn't, to me, mean a big bucket. I'm sure people disagree with that, but hey, that's voting for you.

With regards to the spoiler/whitefont thing--that's up for voting too. If it's an issue for enough people, it will shake out in the vote. I'm not trying to disregard what people think, but I do believe that the process works with regards to these issues.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

The episodes of Medium I've seen do seem to fit the upthread definition of procedural.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

K-ville (I'm not 100% sure if this one is a procedural)

that one strikes me as less procedural and more cultural.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But I don't know that it will generate a lot of discussion here, is the thing. There's a difference between what could be discussed and what will be discussed. Part of the problem, though, is that people who are avoiding spoilage won't know what's actually going on in there, only what the potential is.

You mean that you don't want which comedies in this thread? There really are only a couple that get any sort of conversation at all: HIMYM and the Office. Possibly some of the Fox cartoons. And TDS and the Colbert Report. That's maybe 6 or 7 things.

I still think that a thread just for The Office might be better than a general comedy thread because some people have already expressed an interest in keeping TDS and TCR in Natter and I don't remember particularly sustained conversation about HIMYM in the Experimental Comedy thread. Am I misremembering? How do other HIMYM watchers feel?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I haven't said much, but I think maybe it isn't so much the size of the Bucket as actually defining the specific shows that go in there, so people are spoiler safe.

What is even happening?

This, and mostly...

This. What if the handful of people who do care about the shows that aren't going to be big topics of discussion (L&O or whatever) are afraid to come into the thread and talk about Bones and House because they don't want to get spoiled for the little things that actually never end up being discussed there.

If you make the bucket thread for the three or 4 most popular procedurals, people will be pretty sure those shows are being discussed and can better judge when they want to enter the thread.

As for my "catch-all" comment about comedies, someone (Fred Pete, maybe) mentioned making the thread a catch all for all shows funny. I don't necessarily want a thread only for The Office, but I think a limited bucket would work better than a catch-all for all sorts of reasons, spoiler aversion included.

Okay, I understand. I think I'd be able to accept Kristen's list above. I was definitely proposing a Procedurals bucket thread, and if those are the shows that fit the description, then that's a ready definition. However, I think it's worth noting that the likelihood of active, or even present, discussion of all those shows doesn't seem particularly likely to me. But if you need a defining set of shows for the thread, her list seems to fill that for me.

Regarding The Office, if someone wants to propose a thread for it, I would enthusiastically support it. I'd love to have a thread devoted to The Office. But should no one feel inclined, I think the Comedy thread will support the discussion just fine either way.

And regarding addressing the concerns about what will be discussed in a thread for the Comedy thread, would it be worth it to add a sub-question to the "Do you want a Comedy thread" question asking "If the Comedy thread passes, should this thread be limited to Network Teleivion, or should it be open to comedy on all television channels?"

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'd be down with the idea of limiting the shows to be discussed in the Comedy thread to, say, The Office, 30 Rock, and HIMYM, or some similar grouping. I expect The Office will take up most of the discussion, but I think there are a few other comedy shows that would generate some discussion as well.

Pretty much, though, anywhere I can talk about The Office will make me happy.

Actually I brought up the idea of a separate thread for The Office because I don't watch it, and would rather see the brief mentions of HIMYM and TDS in Natter than wade through a mostly- Office comedy thread, but it doesn't seem right for me to propose a thread for a show I don't watch. I was just interested what other HIMYM, or for that matter 30 Rock or My Name is Earl, watchers thought about it.
