We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I'd be down with folding some of the Premium Cable talk into Procedurals. The Wire, for instance, may be a lot of other things, but it's also a procedural.

This is because I'm a little concerned about the relative lack of discussion in Premium with the deaths of The Sopranos, Deadwood, and John From Cincinnati. There's still talk about Dexter and Flight of the Conchords and S5 of The Wire coming up, but it seems to me that the conversation might be better served by splitting it into threads linked with thematic content over price of subscription. I say this as someone who cares about that thread.

I think it's kind of the same thing as Monk, really. Unless some one else moves to dissolve the Premium thread so that The Wire could be moved to Procedurals, or someone makes a proposal to move that show only, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not inclined to add it on to this proposal, really. Perhaps you should bring it up in B'cry, if the thread passes?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'll be following discussion of Bones. And Medium (which I think fits into the MoW descriptor), when it returns to the schedule.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I, personally, am not a fan of the "see which thread discussion crops up in" theory. I am a big fan of predictability. If there's a show I've found and want to talk about, I want to know where there's likely to already be discussion, or where I should post if so other people looking to talk about the same show know where to look. I think we should set up at least a loose heirarchy of categorization, which, it seems like, we already have wrt Boxed Set and Premium.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I sometimes post something and get a gentle, "you might want to try posting that [where others are currently discussing it]". I think if a discussion about a particular show is going on in more than one place, at least one poster will note in the slower thread that the discussion is hopping in a busier one.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

A problem with discussing The Wire in a Procedurals thread is that the people who are trying to avoid spoilage could get blindsided.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah -- I'm just now watching it on BET, so I couldn't go into a thread where the current season was under discussion in blackfont. And it's really not a traditional procedural, either.

From SA upthread:

I think since we've already made a place for the Cable television, the Procedurals thread would only apply to Network television.

Should Network be specified as part of the ballot question, then? Is this also a question for the proposed Comedy thread?

Offtopic to Jesse: The Wire on BET was severely cut during S2. Rent the DVDs!
