I'd say so, since it seemed to me that that was mostly what was discussed in the comedy thread.
But I think you're right. It's hard to know what is being discussed without venturing in, but if you venture in, you may be spoiled.
I'd say that for me, only the reality thread really worked. I don't know why that is, maybe because I watch the main shows discussed there? Somehow for me, it was much more annoying to scroll through stuff I didn't care about in the experimental threads than in Natter. Maybe because the whitefont in Natter makes it easier to identify?

The reality show thread worked for me mostly because I didn't care about being spoiled for those things.
Bucket threads, especially those with a bigger bucket, present huge spoiler problems for me. It's okay in Boxed Set, because that's a genre I keep up with. So either I'm watching the show, or I don't care. Something like a Network Drama thread, though -- I can't stay subbed, because I'll be spoiled, and once I'm not subbed, I won't remember that it's there.

I really don't like to be spoiled but I get so tempted by the whitefont in Natter. With the separate thread, I can just avoid it until I've caught up (when I remember to, that is).

Well if it isn't a reason that people come here and what people get out of being here, then why are we creating tv threads for all occasions.
I mean. Obviously it's NOT why I come here. I wouldn't care if I missed ita's comments on GA in Natter because that's not my primary reason for being here. Moreover, if I do miss her insights, I also have no problem just posing a question in Natter.
But many people are hell bent on creating their Personal Favorite TV thread so it MUST be a motivating factor for some.
