Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I think that a W&P thread would make sense, beyond even the SPN stuff.

Exactly. Oscars, Super Bowl, anything that doesn't have a dedicated thread, etc....

I can't wait until the first scheduling kerfuffle for use of the W&P thread.

Snerk.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm very, very undecided on the SPN issue, but given that we have voting it should get a vote. It can't be healthy for the board to have stuff that we don't discuss because even bringing it up would be uncomfortable -- not that I think we should lightbulb-ize every niggling detail, but once it's out there, let's finish it.

I'm much more positively intrigued by the idea of a W&P thread, which could be used for regularly scheduled things like the SPN DVD W&P's as well as live things like awards shows. W&P as we do it here is a different kind of rhythm from other discussion (and having it doesn't have to mean that squee-age doesn't happen in the usual places in addition to during W&P).

But also, yeah, this:

I can't wait until the first scheduling kerfuffle for use of the W&P thread.

It could be a deathmatch! No scheduling! Just both camps trying to W&P harder and faster than the other!!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm much more positively intrigued by the idea of a W&P thread

Me too. I'd vote for that over an SPN thread. Not that it would make SPN discussion any less prominent in Boxed Set, but it would obviously decrease the sheer number of SPN-related posts in a given week. There's a psychological component.

It could be a deathmatch! No scheduling! Just both camps trying to W&P harder and faster than the other!!

Definitely this.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

It could be a deathmatch! No scheduling! Just both camps trying to W&P harder and faster than the other!!

Plus, seeing the cross-posts could be quite amusing:

Buffista 1: Another montage? They need to do something to spice up these awards shows.

Buffista 2: Dude. Shotguns in enclosed spaces. Never a good idea.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Love the idea of head-to-head W&Ps!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is someone planning to propose a W&P thread, for real? At first I thought it was a bad idea, but the more people talk about it, the more I think it might work out.

I'm sorry you felt hurt, juliana. And everyone else who did. I don't think anyone intended that.

It seems like compromise has been lost as a general tool

I thought the skip-to-the-end thing was a compromise, that worked pretty well.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Here, I feel forced out and unwelcome, and that is joining with my anti-proliferationista position to overwhelm the guilt that I feel knowing that people are annoyed with the SPN fen. So, I don't want it.
I wish I didn't feel exactly like juliana right now. But I do.
I thought the skip-to-the-end thing was a compromise, that worked pretty well.
It was supposed to be a compromise, certainly. The majority of our posts are for the reW&P and there's a link edited in at the end to skip right over that hour that admittedly generates a lot of posts.

Obviously it hasn't worked well enough.

I am against the thread but if it happens, that is where I will go. Because I

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I really like the idea of a W&P thread. It sounds kinda of crazy and cool.

Our wings are not tired

I like the idea of both a Supernatural thread and of cutting down on the number of shows in Boxed Set. I know there is a sentiment that if you aren't in these theads then this isn't your issue but I have started watching Supernatural and would like to discuss it and at one time I did post in BS and would like to again. As a result I feel that these issues do very much pertain to me. So I will be happily voting in favor of a Supernatural thread.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It could be a deathmatch! No scheduling! Just both camps trying to W&P harder and faster than the other!!

Well, that's already happened in Boxed Set, and the SPN DVD W&Ps clobbered all competition. Don't want no rematch.

I am having a problem with the supposed victimization of SPN folk, since it seems like the rest of us are being told, "We talk a lot. Get over it." We're the ones who are having DVD W&Ps scheduled at the same time as the new episodes of the shows we watch. That's pretty impolite. That doesn't seem like it would change with a watch and post thread, either, because there will still be conflicts once the thread nannies start insisting that all watch and posts be held there.
