All I see is Deadwood discussion; are there other homeless HBO/Showtime discussions?
I keep going back and forth on whether I think the new thread is a good idea, but I do have to say, the first part seems to be true which means I'd say the answer to the second part is "no".
Whether there would be more discussion of other shows if the thread existed, I have no idea. The only other HBO show I'm currently inolved with is Entourage, and that's been a very casual involvement and one I feel no burning need to post about (
the memorable recent appearences by Seth Green
notwithstanding).

I imagine there will be Wire discussion when that starts up again next month.
HBO is a little different, since you either have it or you don't, but I wouldn't be watching Project Runway, Grey's Anatomy, or eagerly anticipating picking up the Slings and Arrows DVDs if they hadn't been popping up in non-dedicated threads. On that basis if nothing else, if we did decide to go this route, I'd prefer it to be a very strictly defined thread.
Okay, I've read the discussion and the proposal and I am not sure this avoides the "general TV hoopla" by being specifically a HBO/Showtime thread. People are still asking where they can discuss specific shows that do not fall under this category (e.g. House).
Is it time yet for a general TV thread?

I don't think it's about when so much as about how.
I still can't find a proposal for a general TV thread that would be at all useful to me, and I eat television.
The proposal seemed pretty clearly specific to me. I don't understand why someone would think House/PR would fit here.

What has changed since the last time we voted that down? (Or... what ita said)
Rome & Sopranos would both be in Premium Boxed Set, when they start up again.
I don't often watch the stuff on the premium channels (I only get Showtime, no HBO), if I did, I would prefer a thread where I could find them. It's just like it took me a while to find where Eureka was being talked about. I skimmed Natter for it and couldn't find. Finally asked myself, maybe boxed set as a genre show, because I don't normally hang there. And then I found it. Knowing that I can find the premium shows in a premium Thread will make it easier to find if I decide to start watching more TV.
I feel a little left out. My shows aren't worthy of their own thread.

I don't think the poster thought that. But didn't know where "House" would be discussed.
