Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ND, brenda summarized my understanding. I think people don't want to vote for a thread that may have undefined whitefont rules.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jon, I'm not sure that'd even help at this point. Not without getting very complicated.

I know, I know.

I'm going out for a few hours. If there's a ballot to be put up, I'll get to it later this evening (8 pm PDT, give or take).

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I think Cindy's #1 and #2 need to be put on a ballot.

I think the ballot needs to state that people are voting on the possibility of one thread. If most want a new thread at all, a runoff of the top 4 options across both questions will start after the first vote is counted.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Cindy's ballot makes sense, except for the need for a runoff. Do we have anything about runoffs?

What is even happening?

Kat, I think the run-off vs. preferential voting was something we decided to take as it came, rather than lock ourselves into one method. I think we decided that was up to the proposer, but I can't find any rules regarding the situation.

Here's the voting FAQ: [link] and the Cheesebutt document: [link]

le nubian, I think you're right that the ballot should limit us to one thread. I'm glad we're going to get to vote on spoiler policy when we're thumbs upping or downing a thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'm back.

Do we have final wording?

We also need a vote counter, which I'll be if no one else steps up.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'll do the counting,

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
