Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The whitefont in Boxed Set makes things worse, since it's not always clear which show is being discussed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there whitefonting in there now? If it was a thread rule (and enforced), it should become more second nature -- it works in Spoilers Lite, although that has much less volume.

However, enough people both hate doing and reading the whitefont, so that's where it falls apart most times.

Art Crawl!!!

There's whitefont until the show is done airing in the East Coast. Then it's up for grabs.

Does the thread header need to be changed to reflect that? I remember there was consensus .... wait -- so watch and post is whitefonted, but at 9:01 it's fair game? Is that useful?

I don't see why it couldn't be whitefonted the way Natter is. It's essentially a TV Natter thread. This may not be such a bad idea. I know, Natter will just keep chugging on the way it always does, and a TV Natter thread will be zipping along in no time, but I think there may be a need to split the miscelaneous whitefonted show natter out on it's own. The various shows on their own aren't enough to warrant their own threads (unless some new one does, but that will be a whole other thing...), but put together, they do seem to be separate entities in need of their own spaces.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

I believe the rule is that there's no whitefonting once it's aired on the East Coast. Why people started whitefonting I have no idea. *shrug* Lemme see...

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

I interpret that as "during the airing" not "as soon as the episode is done," but whatever, I'm on the west coast anyway so it doesn't really affect me.

Our wings are not tired

I see it as a TV natter thread as well. I can forsee lots of the discussion being the merits of the new shows and what's good and what's not, etc. etc.

Boxed Set: I actually don't think W-n-P is whitefonted anymore. Er, unless I'm making giant faux pas all the time and no one is telling me. Which I supose could happen. But - I used to whitefont during and for a few days, and then I thought whitefont was abolished for aired stuff. Which is kind of sad, but that's just me. Or, mostly me. I mean, 3 eps behind on BSG would still make it hard to go in, because the whitefont usually only lasted a day or so. Still.

Um, as to the proposal on the table. I don't know what I think yet. Though, two threads seems excessive. One TV Natter thread seems like a more managable concpet. To discuss. I have no idea how managable it would be in practice.

Well, except Sci-Fi Fridays (which is really what Boxed Set seems to have become, and maybe should be changed again to reflect that, but that's yet another separate issue....) is kind of its own thing.

Wuh? Oh, hell yeah. I'm not talking about making Boxed Set a general TV Natter Thread. Heavens no. I was only talking about Boxed Set for the whitefont issue. It was a tangent.

I'm saying - the proposal has two threads suggested. I think just the one thread would do for that. General TV. I still don't know how I feel about it, but, no, not talking about changing Boxed Set. ::hugs Boxed Set::
