Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
I still don't see anyone really against doing an instant runoff (i.e. prfffmmmmng), so I went ahead and coded up a ballot. It's a dummy ballot. The "Send" button won't work until midnight. Comments on content?
Yeah, maybe put at the bottom a feedback question. Did you understand this ballot yes/no/don't care?
Yes/No isn't very useful. If folks have questions, they can ask about it here or in Bureaucracy.
Looks good to me.

It's the talking about it we're trying to avoid. I thought maybe an informal survey of how many people the PV really squicks might be a good idea and very easy to do.
In fact, why not put an informal survey rider on other ballots too. How many Buffistas are lefties/righties? How many Buffistas eat rice with a spoon/fork? Etc. It could make this process a little more fun.
In other words, I think it's fine.
It is lovely Jon.
I suppose that I am the one staying up and posting the link?
Oh yeah, sorry, no way I can stay up. Any West Coasters?

I am so fond of this idea. Really.
I usually vote in the first couple minutes, but since I missed 6 days of discussion I will probably be voting on day 3. I feel so out of the loop. I am so far behind I am downloading last week's Angel that I forgot about. Yikes.
I cannot describe how much I do NOT want to get back into the, "how about if we describe it this way? Does it make sense now?" I'm getting right back into the annoyed place of whenever that was before about this same stupid issue. I really don't see the value of having to have this annoying conversation AGAIN when we can just do the damned runoff.
I's cool. BTW (and this is not an explanation, just my own fevered imaginings), I've taken to imagining PV like a big ol' hall with banners around the sides, here saying stuff like "SIX ROOLZ!!" or "THREE CHEERS FOR... THREE!!". (And one saying "NO GURLS" with the 'R' backwards, but that's just because I've been reading Calvin and Hobbes.) Then everyone runs for their favourite banner, and stands under it, hootin' and hollerin' (hurling of faeces will be frowned upon, to say the least). Then some guy in an official suit and probably looking like that professor from The Paperchase walks over to the stand with the fewest people, and says something like "This stand is closed! You must all find new corners!"
Then all the other corners start cheering and trying to get all the people to come over to their corner, promising to pick them first for softball, that sort of thing, and so everyone finds a new corner. Except some people don't want to leave, 'cause there's only OTP, y'know, so they stage a sit-in and blow raspberries at everyone else.
Then the Paperchase guy goes and shuts down another corner until there are two corners left. And then they fight it out with a tug-of-war. And all the people who stayed at their original corners start doing a slow handclap or a Mexican wave.
Then we all break for Kool-Aid, while Wolfram and Gandalfe pants the professor.
