It also occurred to me that a spoiler thread is going to draw those seeking copies of the unaired episodes like a swarm of locusts.
That is why people want an obscure name, I think.
Could we have something about that in the thread header? E.g., Please do not post here looking for copies. Posts requesting copies will be edited or deleted.
(Or whatever --I'm not sure about the edit/deletia need.)
As I understand it, Google works by counting words used in links. In sense-making terms: if enough people have linked to that thread as Minearverse, then "Minearverse," as a Google search term will point to that thread. (Which is how Googlehackers got "miserable failure" pointed to whitehouse.gov for however long that lasted.)
I'm guessing that we're the only people linking to that thread with the terms "Getting His Words Out"
So whatever we call the WF Spoilers thread, the title will be a Googleable set of search terms for getting there. The slug, nsm.
I would like to call the thread Janet. Or possibly Snowy Owl Love Killer. But the Janet makes me laugh. Every. Time.
Bootleg Barrels: Pushed right over the edge
But that is already happening. I was about to say it can't get much worse and then ... well, that will mean it will, so. I'll just stick with the first sentence.
I think it might concentrate that though, since the assumption will be that people in the thread have access. Which will make conversation just as difficult as it is in Minearverse. Although Lyra's suggestion (restricting the content to no requesting) has merit.
So whatever we call the WF Spoilers thread, the title will be a Googleable set of search terms for getting there. The slug, nsm.
Google "wonderfalls discussion" and we're on page 3, just from the slug.
I hate to be elitist, but Minearverse moves too quickly for me. I would love to know what Tim is working on, without the kerfluffle of Wonderfalls discussion, etc. Bet it is scaring Tim too.
So whatever we call the WF Spoilers thread, the title will be a Googleable set of search terms for getting there. The slug, nsm.
But if it's something definitely associated with Wonderfalls, but not something used a whole lot (and no, I have no idea what that would be -- maybe a seldom-quoted line or something), it would still be googlable. For example, we're the only thing that google finds for "corsets flaming otters."
Google "wonderfalls discussion" and we're on page 3, just from the slug.
Right, because people are linking to us like this: Wonderfalls Discussion. I don't *think* it actually matters that the search terms are on the page.
[eta: What I'm trying to get at is I don't think a sneaky title will actually hide us. If we get linked to by anyone as Wonderfalls spoilers, we're Googleable for those search terms.]
Thread Called Janet
Where we talk about the arc you didn't get to see. Please don't post asking for episodes. This is not the thread you're looking for.
