After a proposal, discussion and vote, further discussion on a given matter should be closed for:
3 months
4 months
6 months
No Preference
Please provide a second choice, should your first choice receive the least number of votes. This second choice will only be used if no first choice receives more than 50% of the votes. It will be used to resort the ballots of those whose first choice received the least number of votes. If you voted for one of the top two vote getters, your second choice will be ignored. It's like having an instant runoff.
3 months
4 months
6 months
No Preference
Note that this will apply to ALL decisions, affirmative and negative.

You know what? Seeing it like that makes me feel better. You can vote for 6 months and then No Preference, so as not to cheat on the Correct Number.

I realize I feel like PV makes sense and everything, but honestly, when I try to think about it, I get confused. Which is silly. But I get mixed up -- which votes get recounted? When? Why? Telling me to rank my choices is easy -- it's when I get into the nuts and bolts I start to feel like a retarded monkey.

God, I just engaged in obnoxious windbaggery again. What I mean is that if ithe people who have said on multiple occasions that preferential voting is ultra-alienating to them will stand aside just this once, I think it would be great, but we need to live with multi-ballot run-off this once, if they won't. And in either case we need to get the question of preferential voting in the queue as soon as possible.

Jesse - to try and make an argument for multi-ballot run-off since you are arguing on substance, does the following confuse you.
We have decided to close discussion when an issue is brought to a vote. We need to decide between six, four and three months.
1) Do you vote "no preference" on this issue? If you do, no choices are allowed on remaining questions.
2)What is your preference between six, four, and three months?
3) In the even that no option wins a majority, and your preference wins the least number of votes, what is your preference among the remaining options? (Answering question 2, does not require that you answer this question)
