Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Brenda, are you doing your research here?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Nope, I was briefly able to get into the WX archives this afternoon.

If your download speed is good, everything should be there.

I don't see the Roll Your Own or Bureaucracy threads from WX. Am I missing them?

D'oh. Good point. I guess they're still open, so unarchived.

Don't mind me.

Bureaucracy and RYO are both on second threads though, so if we ever get the chance we should move the originals over.

Nobody

brenda, thank you. And it would have been much easier if we'd just put our foot down, one way or another.

Up with the sun

I heartily wish we'd moved on one or the other of these options at the beginning of the summer - but I think most of us on both sides didn't think of them as options for some reason

IIRC, the problem was that until "Chosen" aired, people were viewing it as a plot spoiler because the casting change implied that the character in question could not die in the finale. Which, given how flexible "death" is in the Buffyverse and in this instance, is a laugh, but that IS how people were talking about it.

By the time that was no longer an issue, everyone was used to treating the casting news as a spoiler. I agree we probably should have had this discussion in June, when passions on both sides were lower.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'd like to see any ballot create a thread for whichever community looses out.

That way, all the kids get to play even if one group has a ghetto playground with two toys.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'd like to see any ballot create a thread for whichever community looses out.

As I noted in Bureaucracy, I think that's a separate issue. First of all, we don't know the outcome of this vote. Second, thread creation puts a strain on the system, and needs to be considered separately. Third, the issue at hand will be worded by Jim, and I personally think it's better for us to nail down the spoiler issue in clear language with clear border in a manner that accomodates the most number of Buffistas. That in itself, is a difficult task (as the many posts prove) and shouldn't be further complicated by the additional step of a rider.
