"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This girl, however, was very interested in people, and took treats from me, and walked on a leash, and peed immediately when she got outside the kennel, which was a good sign. So I brought her home! She is now curled up on her dog bed while I watch GBBO.

What a sweet face!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She's lovely! I'm interested in her DNA but she's 100% possibly Best Girl.

I have a kitten on her being significantly something beyond husky and shepherd (while having a bunch of percentage of them) but cannot for the life of me figure out what.

She looks like some local strays. I can't figure them out either.

I'm dithering over names. If I got a boy dog, I was thinking about Brasso or Kino -- both Star Wars names, from Andor. But I don't love the female names (Marva, Bix, Dedra), so I'm thinking about Star Trek instead. My favorite Trek right now is Lower Decks.

So: Tendi? Beckett? Mariner?

Tendi is too close to my brother's dog, who is named Twende (Swahili for "let's go"). Personality-wise, she's closer to Tendi than to Mariner, but still: it's a more stealth Trek callout than one of the other characters from the live action shows.

Oh, wait, there's also Tilly and Kira...

One of those, I think.

Our wings are not tired.

I love Tilly!!

I have a niece (well, cousin’s daughter who’s more like niece) named Kira for ST.

I'm thinking seriously about Tilly.

(I still love Mariner but I think she may be more of a Tilly anyway...)

Mariner is a great name but I’d end up calling her Marnie because three syllables and I’m lazy lol.

She’s so cute!!!!

Very striking eyes indeed!

I have been on a road trip since 1pm, and we are still almost 2 hours from our destination. Oh dear. But I am not driving. I am however DJ, a responsibility I take seriously, so have been keeping the vibe going.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

She would make a most excellent Tilly. Huzzah!

(The most recent amazing race has made question what it says about a society that lets a word like huzzah fall into disuse. Nothing good I’m sure.)
