Because books.

That's a good way to look at it, Laura. Fingers crossed!

Lisah, what's even funnier is my ex's family has roots in Delaware, too! For a really small state, it's got fingers in a lot of pies.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I really think she has a better chance of getting younger people to the polls, which is desperately needed.

Yes, this. I keep switching from being really hopefully to really anxious about all of this, but I still think this is right.

ltc is in dance camp this week, and I'm home with a migraine today. About to do a virtual therapy appointment so that I don't have to drive.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Someone pointed out that the tRump cultists who are going around with gauze/tissue taped to their ears are largely the people who were making fun of people who wore masks.

And Calli's post about preferring her cat's hairball to tRump is my quote of the week - at least hairballs don't involve large quantities of hair spray.

Thrive to spite them

My day started ok and then took a turn for the bad. But I'm currently in the bathtub with snacks , a book and noise cancelling stuff and I plan to be here for awhile

I realized what I could use is a small cooler to help keep some things cold while I soak and until I'm ready to nibble on them or drink. I'm possibly being OTT but I don't care.

Ugh. Yesterday had a migraine and felt off, but was hoping it was just the migraine. But today, definitely am getting sick. I had plans for today and tomorrow dam it!

Thrive to spite them

I'm feeling better after a soak and some nice nibbley food. I have discovered that sour cream and salsa verde mixed together (more sour cream than salsa) and eaten scooped up by pan toasted sourdough bread is a really good comfort snack. I had salty, crunchy, sweet, sour, savory, soft and creamy. I forgot the chocolate but that's ok.

Bath 1 is done. I'm going to futz around and then I'm going to do some self care in the form of purging items and doing some organizing. I spent the last couple of days reading This You Protect by owlet (amazing Captain America fanfic with Bucky & Steve and about Bucky Barnes recovery), I don't think it was maybe the best for my mindset but it was good and reinforced cheese and baths as self care.

Vaguely snack related - some people found a baby owl that had fallen out of its nest. They called a raptor rehabilitation center and told them they'd found the baby and the rehabilitators went to collect it. One odd thing - the baby bird seemed cold, so they warmed up a tortilla and wrapped the baby in it (no intention of eating it, but it was what they had they could warm up and use to wrap the baby bird). Baby bird was collected by the rehabilitators and, while odd, it was warm.

Our wings are not tired.

Good thinking. Although an owl tortilla would be upsetting.
