Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

Capitalism must go on, Shir
So much this. I swear that the biggest winner in this chaos is capitalism and weapons manufacturers. Also, capitalism is more than welcome to go flat on the ground and cover its head and pray when the air raid siren comes and I'm not next to a safe space.
I took a local private sourdough class last weekend (me and 5 strangers crowded around this woman's kitchen table) and brought home a starter, which I have named Buffy Sours (aka Buffy the Sourdough Starter).
She is bulk fermenting for me RIGHT NOW and is doing a great job. I sincerely hope I do not kill her. (Her namesake has been through enough of that.)
Fricking Facebook thinks I talk too much. (As does in fact, half of America, probably since about 1982. What else is new? Except when I talk I get my thoughts out and don't have posts get eaten for ill-defined "reasons" and "standards" that nobody will define or anything...funny description of social, there.
Maybe something is broken. Maybe a whole page got reported and I'm just in on it(Possibly some weak-kneed Christian on Steph Drury's page, but there isn't some massive recent beef where I'm all tenting my agnostic fingers going "Eat it, Ezekiel." or more likely, "Wow, that's gonna leave a mark."
Shir, I wouldn't miss capitalism either. Like Snot, they never let me play, anyway.
Is it just timing or or clutching, or is it refusing to pay for content reasons? I've never had the latter happen, but who knows.
I've been off of Ozempic for months once my insurance changed, but my doc and I decided I coul try the Wegovy pill, since its absorbed in the stomach and not further on, where my absorption issues start. I'm curious to see how it goes. Fingers crossed. Infewl.like everyone here who's on is injejection?
FWIW, Jess, I have had really good luck revivifying sourdough starters that seemed like they ought to be dead. Presumably, Buffy Sours will be well-suited to that, if needed.
No idea. Some people say on Google that I might need a new version or to clear my cache, but ai'm not sure getting back in there is worth it to me--I'm there to talk to my friends, not tinker. It's been a long time since it's been fun, anyway. But at least, it's not really that I'm busted--it can be hard to tell and even harder to have somebody help.
Fingers crossed that it will fix itself without you needing to do anything, erika
I have maintained a sourdough starter by feeding it at most once every two weeks and it's fine!
In news from here, there were big layoffs at my job, but I did not get laid off, so I guess that's good. Although I was pretty prepared to accept the ~6 months of severance I would have gotten.
Big layoffs sound scary. I think we are moving in that direction but my union would like us all to strike? I really don't wanna.
I had a sourdough in the fridge I hadn't fed for like 3 months and it was pretty easy to revive. It's resilient than you'd expect.
K and I are almost done watching all of the Great Canadian Bakeoff and I am sad.
Six months severance sounds pretty good. Not getting laid off, also pretty good. On a scale of everything sucks to things could be worse, I guess. Jeepers.
There’ve been a couple of teacher’s strikes and the Kaiser strike around here recently. And I think county workers? I have not really followed how successful they were as far as what agreements were reached but presumably they got something…they were all pretty short which really could mean anything.
