"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Probably not, right?

I assume that's a "is this a worker's comp situation?" question, since I also just was filling out information about whether my visit was a work-related injury.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Yeah. Insurance companies love to look for someone else to pay.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I also have a haircut appointment scheduled for Saturday and I need to make some decisions about What I Want.

Good luck with this! My stylist is moving to Alabama at the end of the year. I have already told her she has to write up exactly what she does because the only instruction I give her is, "The shortest layer has to be long enough for a ponytail. Other than that, do what you want." I literally have no idea. I want to be able to walk into a new stylist and, rather than a pic from a magazine, hand them some notes and say, "do this."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I checked no thinking it’s not workman’s comp, but maybe it should be? Not in reality, and if I’m dreaming of a more perfect world I can probably do away with this whole health insurance mess and maybe jobs, so not worth pursuing

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

Happy Birthday Cashmere and Megan Walker!

I spent much of the day being lazy, took a sandwich to the lake to eat lunch out in the fresh air, and then went with Mom to my favorite Thai place for dinner. Found another Thai specialty she really likes despite her mental block about food more exotic than Chef Boy-ar-dee.

I like the idea of the more perfect world, t, but I’m thinking no.

WHY am I all of a sudden twisting my ankles repeatedly? Like, this has never been a thing before. It’s more my bad ankle but have also done it to my other one. Today I was at the dog park and suddenly my ankle went out (maybe I slipped on some of the gravel??) and I fell all the way down and skinned my knee and made my shoulder and wrist unhappy too. Wtf.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Belated birthday, Matt. I'm glad it was a good day for you--and happy for your mom's discovery of a new favorite!

Happy Birthday Cash and Megan!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Meara, perhaps a combo of balance and ankle strengthening exercises would help? If you’re dancing less than before the pandemic, it could be that your ankles aren’t as strong as they use to be.

Our wings are not tired.

After I went to the trouble of annotating the forms, they sent me another email a little bit ago with fillable forms. Ha ha. Ha.

I am sorry to have laughed at that. That was just plain cruel.

Yay boosted JenP! Enjoy the relief of invincibility. (yeah I know not really, but as close as we can get)

one of the pre-appointment questions is “is this a work-related injury”

Hmm, I think a yes might be appropriate here, but likely not going to get you worker's comp.

Yeah. Insurance companies love to look for someone else to pay.

My sister caught her finger in my car window and wanted to pay with her most excellent health insurance but the hospital made us go through my car insurance. She regretted not just telling them she fell.

I also have a haircut appointment scheduled for Saturday and I need to make some decisions about What I Want.

This would be why I haven't had a haircut for many years.

Sounds like a lovely day, Matt.

Ouch, meara!! Also, what Calli said.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey. Going to take a ride to where my son lives about 45 minutes away. The colors should be more vibrant there as it is warmer than here. Lower elevation. Onerous tasks of registering his car in NY and upgrading our phones. Getting so apps are looking for a newer OS. I like my 6s! I don't want change, but apparently, 13 is in my immediate future. Just need to locate a store with a pink one.
