I feel like buttering toast has a lot of variables and is too complex a subject for me to get into this morning
I bet it was one of Larry Niven's Known Space stories that featured Pak Protectors
Hm, probably, that does sound like what I remember. That's basically all it was about, so whatever introduced them, I would guess.
The cleaning team from Cincinnati Hoarding is here. I'm in the bedroom with the kitty, because I can keep the door shut to keep him in here (we don't want him getting underfoot, or into a room with cleaning chemicals, or getting out the front door when people come in and out). This is moderately stressful.
But I do have to work, so hopefully that will be a decent diversion.
Well, I say "I have work," but I'm currently looking at Ruggable rugs online. Has anyone gotten a rug from them? I'm curious if they live up to their marketing.
Oh, here's something fun: Northside is *not* doing the 4th of July parade again this year b/c of the pandemic (even though the CDC changed their guidelines recently, the parade committee starts planning early in the year, so they made that decision a while ago), BUT they got inspired by NOLA's decorated houses for Mardi Gras and are going to do that this year!
I definitely want to decorate our porch, but I need to come up with a fun theme that's also doable for my meager DIY skills.
I'm a full butterer, JenP.
C update: saw derm, yesterday. TL; DR: nobody knows anything for certain.
He's scheduled for an infusion on Thursday. G.I. is supposed to be making another appeal with the insurance company to switch back to Remicade (from Inflectra). Last I spoke to the G.I., he was also mulling over delaying this next infusion by another week. I just sent him an email via the hospital's patient portal (which isn't much of a portal, because it doesn't even take you anywhere cool at all).
I think they're in "press some buttons and see what happens" mode, which I understand, but which I don't prefer, when it comes to my own kid. Thanks for all of your kindness, everyone.
Teppy, good luck with the clean out. I hope it helps you and T feel better, and that the kitty takes it in stride.
Happy belated birthday, Vortex.
Happy niecelet, Epic Tangent.
Good luck with cleaning, Teppy!
I vote full butter. But that’s easier if the butter is not cold and hard to spread?
I do not know from ruggable but am interested in the answer…
I butter my toast because I want butter on all of the toast.
Yep. And I keep my butter at room temperature to make sure I can spread it evenly without breaking the toast.
Excellent toast feedback, thank you.
Thinking of you guys, Cindy.

Awesome! That should be fun
When I think of buttering toast I am for some reason picturing myself in a restaurant and they don't always give me enough butter to truly cover the toast. And when I am home there is the butter-is-too-cold-to-spread issue which runs into my impatience to eat and honestly, warm toasty toast with lumps of cold butter not at all evenly spread on it is a different kind of delicious to thoroughly buttered toast, but it is still delicious. But in theory I'm going to try to butter the whole piece of toast. And I do like to toast already buttered bread in the toaster oven, seems even butterier that way.
I don't butter toast often, but I am pretty random with my totality when I do. Peanut butter however must be evenly and completely covering the surface.
